This summer sees Adam Walker launch his new chamber music group The Orsino Ensemble at the Aldeburgh Festival.
Under the leadership of Artistic Director Adam Walker the Orsino Ensemble is a flexible format chamber ensemble with a central focus on the five outstanding wind players at its core. Each a leader in their field, the group’s members are committed to showcasing the depth and versatility of the wind chamber repertoire; expanding and reducing the ensemble’s format as needed across their different programmes.
An ambassador for the flute with a ferocious appetite for repertoire, Adam Walker is a committed chamber musician with a curious and creative approach to repertoire and programming. He is a regular visitor to leading chamber music venues including the Wigmore Hall, LSO St Luke’s, De Singel, Musée du Louvre and the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie and in 2018 was selected as a member of the prestigious Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center’s CMS Two programme. Walker is also a regular participant in festivals including the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festspiele, Utrecht, West Cork, Delft and Moritzburg Chamber Music Festivals, with future plans also including the Musica Viva Festival in Australia. It was this increasing focus on chamber music, which compelled Walker to find a new creative outlet for his developing repertoire interests and to establish a platform to do this with an inspiring group of chamber musicians and friends.
