The Nash Ensemble is still the best champion that any composer could hope to have.
The Nash Ensemble has built up a remarkable reputation as one of Britain’s finest and most adventurous chamber groups. The twelve musicians together with founder and Artistic Director Amelia Freedman explore all corners of the vast repertoire through highly imaginative and innovative programmes. Well known masterpieces are programmed alongside lesser-known and important contemporary works including 138 Nash commissions from leading composers.
Each season they present a series of themed concerts at Wigmore Hall and tour regularly throughout Europe and North America visiting many of the finest concert halls and festivals. Their extensive discography includes a British Composers series for Hyperion Records and recent releases of Mozart piano quartets, chamber works by Richard Strauss and Brahms’ String Sextets.
The Nash Ensemble’s concerts and recordings have won numerous awards including two Royal Philharmonic Society awards in the chamber music category for "for the breadth of its taste and its immaculate performance of a wide range of music."
