Hannu Lintu’s immense and instinctive musical knowledge, authority and passion for music never fail to shine new light on the orchestral canon. His rigorous training gives him the key to unlocking the musical potential from musicians and he consistently receives excellent reviews and re-invitations from orchestras he works with.

Since graduating from the Sibelius Academy where he studied with Jorma Panula, Lintu has held three Music Director positions and from August 2009 assumed the position of Artistic Director and Chief Conductor with the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra. He is increasingly in demand all over the world and has recently conducted Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony, Pittsburgh Symphony, National Symphony Orchestra of Washington, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, and Finnish Radio Symphony where he is a regular guest.
