La Montagne, Clermont-Ferrand

The distinguished French pianist, Jean-Philippe Collard, continues to perform at a high level around the world, seducing audiences with his rich sonority and engaging sensitivity. Recent and forthcoming engagements include performances with the NHK Symphony Orchestra/Dutoit, Netherlands Radio Philharmonic/van Zweden, Berlin Konzerthaus Orchester/Zagrosek, Montreal Symphony/Nagano, Indianapolis Symphony/Varga, Detroit Symphony/Dutoit, Boston Symphony/Previn, Pittsburgh Symphony/YP Tortelier and tours of the UK & Europe with the Philharmonia/Dutoit.

Always looking for new challenges, Collard continues to add to his repertoire and excels at making lesser known works as piano concertos by Scriabin, Poulenc, Rimsky-Korsakov and Messiaen’s Oiseaux exotiques, accessible to new audiences.

With over 50 CDs to his credit (EMI), Collard’s discography includes award-winning recordings of the Ravel Concertos with Lorin Maazel and the Orchestre National de France, the five Saint-Saëns Piano Concertos with André Previn and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and Chausson Concert Op 21 with Augustin Dumay and the Muir String Quartet.
