Steven Osborne’s sensitive musicianship, exquisite tone and his intellectual approach to both the music and his carefully crafted programmes have established himself as one of Britain’s most highly respected pianists.
He regularly brings the diverse worlds of Beethoven, Brahms as well as Messiaen, Tippett and Alkan to the major concert halls all over the world including the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Konzerthaus Berlin, Konzerthaus Vienna and Carnegie Hall in New York. He is a regular visitor to the Proms and performs every year at the Wigmore Hall. Conductors appreciate his meticulous preparation and he has performed with many leading conductors and orchestras across the world including the NHK Symphony in Tokyo, Deutsches Sinfonie-Orchester Berlin, Dallas Symphony and Finnish Radio Symphony.
Steven records for Hyperion and his CDs have collected numerous awards including three Gramophone Award Nominations. Recently released is a CD of works for orchestra and piano by Britten, and Rachmaninov’s Preludes.
